What is an Infrared Sauna?
An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to emit infrared light experienced as radiant heat, which is absorbed by the skin to create heat in the body. The infrared heaters used in these saunas can be made of materials like ceramic, carbon, or metal, and they emit one or more types of infrared light:
Near-infrared (NIR): Penetrates the least deeply, often used for skin health and surface-level healing.
Mid-infrared (MIR): Penetrates deeper, potentially aiding muscle relaxation and circulation.
Far-infrared (FIR): Penetrates the deepest, commonly associated with detoxification and sweating.
The saunas we utilize at SOZO are all full spectrum infrared saunas giving you the highest efficiency output available.
How does Infrared Sauna work?
Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas directly heat your body, offering a different kind of heat therapy with several unique benefits. Exposing your body to heat is one of the simplest, yet most effective biohacks there is. Heat causes a release of heat shock proteins that are critical to helping damaged cells be removed and new healthy cells to grow. Heat also has a similar effect as exercise on your cardiovascular system and studies have shown it can drastically increase longevity.
